Hosting and site tools by category

Getting a small website online takes a handful of separate services that work together: somewhere to host the site, a domain name, email on that domain, protection from attacks, backups, and a way to check the site is up and loading well. This page lists every category on HostHangout in roughly that order.

Web hosting with AI help covers general hosts that bundle AI site builders and assistants. Managed WordPress hosting covers hosts that run WordPress for you, with updates, backups and staging. Domain names covers registrars and AI name generators. Business email covers email on your own domain, including the big office suites.

Security and CDN covers firewalls, malware scanning and content delivery networks. Backups and site moves covers plugins and services for keeping copies of your site and moving it between hosts. AI tools inside WordPress covers page builders and SEO plugins with AI features. Site checks covers speed tests and uptime monitors.

Each listing has one plain line written by us and a link to the official site, plus a longer write-up for the services most small sites start with. Facts such as a free plan, AI features or WordPress support appear only when we are sure of them. We do not test speed or uptime, so use the site checks category to measure your own site once it is live.

The categories overlap on purpose. Many hosts sell domains and email, Cloudflare runs a registrar as well as its CDN, and Jetpack covers both backups and security. A service appears in the category that matches what most small site owners use it for, and its description says what else it does.

If you are new to all of this, read the guide on the home page first. It walks through the order most small site owners follow and points to the category for each step.

Questions about HostHangout

Where should I start if I have no website yet?

Pick a domain name, then hosting. If you plan to use WordPress, compare general hosts with managed WordPress hosts. Add business email, backups and basic security once the site is set up.

Are services ranked within each category?

No. They appear in our editorial order, not by score. Sponsored placements, when sold, sit at the top of a category and are labeled Sponsored.

Do all these services use AI?

Many include AI features, such as site builders, writing assistants or bot detection. Some essentials, such as registrars and backup plugins, are listed because a site needs them, and their listings say whether they have AI features.
